Privacy Policy

Overview

EZ-Updater is a WordPress plugin that lets businesses update website content through Telegram. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We keep this simple because we collect very little.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to operate the service:

  • Name and email address — submitted through our checkout or contact forms.
  • Telegram interaction data — messages sent to the EZ-Updater bot to trigger website updates.
  • Basic usage data — such as which features are being used, if applicable. No detailed analytics tracking is currently in place.
  • If you enable Telegram updates in the plugin (off by default), the plugin sends our bridge service your site URL, site name, a generated site identifier, a generated shared secret used to sign requests, and the plugin version. While the feature is in use, the text of Telegram messages you pair with your site, plus sender name and chat details, pass through the bridge and the Telegram Bot API to deliver your updates.

The plugin sends nothing to us or to anyone else unless you explicitly connect Telegram updates. We do not collect passwords, payment card data, or sensitive personal information directly. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.

How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and deliver the EZ-Updater service.
  • To process and fulfill your purchase, including sending your license key.
  • To relay your Telegram messages to your WordPress site.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To improve the product based on usage patterns.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your information is used only to operate EZ-Updater and support you as a customer.

Third-Party Services

EZ-Updater uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe — handles payment processing. Stripe may collect billing information directly. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • Telegram — used to receive update commands. Messages are routed through Telegram's infrastructure. See telegram.org/privacy.
  • EZ-Updater bridge — message text, sender name, and chat details pass through our bridge, a hosted service operated by us on Cloudflare infrastructure, before reaching your WordPress site.

We are not responsible for the data practices of these services. We encourage you to review their policies.

Data Storage

Update commands and related data may be stored temporarily to deliver updates to your site. We do not guarantee permanent retention of message history or usage logs. Data is retained only as long as needed to operate the service.

Your Responsibility

Do not send sensitive personal information — such as passwords, financial details, or private customer data — through Telegram commands. EZ-Updater is designed for publishing public-facing business updates like hours, availability, and status messages.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we handle. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that data transmitted through third-party services like Telegram will be fully protected at every step.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of EZ-Updater after a policy update means you accept the new terms.
