Getting Started

Install EZ-Updater and have your first widget live on your WordPress site in a few minutes.

Step 1

Download and install EZ-Updater

Go to the download page and grab the free EZ-Updater ZIP file. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP, and click Install Now. Once installed, click Activate Plugin.

No license key is required for the free plugin.

Step 2

Create your first widget

After activation, you'll see an EZ-Updater menu item in the WordPress admin sidebar. Click it to open the widget manager. Choose a widget type — Open/Closed, Item Status, Announcement Banner, Availability List, Today's Value, Today's Hours, or Simple Notice — give it a name, set its initial content, and save.

You can create as many widgets as you need. Each widget gets a unique ID used to embed it on your site.

Step 3

Embed the widget on your site

You have two ways to display a widget on any page or post:

Option A — Shortcode

Copy the shortcode from your widget's settings and paste it into any page, post, or text widget:

[ez_updater id="your-widget-id"]

Option B — Gutenberg block

In the block editor, click the + button, search for EZ-Updater, and insert the block. Select your widget from the dropdown in the block settings panel.

Step 4

Update widget content

To change a widget's content from WordPress, go to EZ-Updater → Widgets in your WordPress admin, find the widget, edit the text or status, and click Save. The change appears on your site immediately — no page rebuild or cache clear needed.

To update from your phone, go to EZ-Updater → Settings → Connect to Telegram, copy the /setup pairing command shown there, and send it to @EZUpdaterBot in Telegram. Once paired, send a message like "closed" to update your status widget instantly.

Telegram updates work with status and availability widgets. Text widgets like Today's Hours update from the WordPress admin.

Want to update from Telegram?

EZ-Updater Pro is a paid add-on that adds scheduling and auto-revert, the Elementor widget, and smarter Telegram features — natural-language messages, undo, and group chats. It requires the free plugin installed and a valid license key.
